While we are not in-network with any insurance companies, you can still take advantage of your out-of-network behavioral health benefits with our services. We’ve made the process simple by partnering with a secure payment app that communicates directly with your insurance. This way, you’ll only pay exactly what you owe, based on your benefits.
For further details, head over to our rates page or get in touch with us directly. We'll gladly assist you in determining the extent of your out-of-network benefits coverage and the remaining amount you'd be responsible for per session.

To provide the highest standard of care to you and each of our clients, we offer our services at a set rate depending on the therapist you work with. Therapy is an investment of your time, money, and energy, and we aim to foster the best possible experience in return. By keeping the focus on your growth and well-being, rather than on financial negotiations, we can make the absolute most of your investment. For more information, see Rates.
The first session is a chance to meet your therapist face-to-face and further build the trust and rapport established during your consultation call. During this session, your therapist will conduct a comprehensive assessment, considering your personal history, current concerns, and expectations for therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss any specific goals you have for therapy and address any questions or concerns, and together, you’ll develop a plan to move forward. If, at any point, you or your therapist feel that another approach might better suit your needs, your therapist can provide tailored referrals based on what you’ve shared.
Sessions are typically held once a week, as consistent and predictable therapy has been shown to yield the best outcomes. For most of our clients, this means committing to a regular day and time each week. However, the frequency can be adjusted based on your individual needs and goals. In some cases, more or less frequent sessions may be recommended to ensure the most effective support for your progress.
The length of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients achieve what they're looking for in a shorter timeframe, while others may prefer a longer timeline to engage with the work. You and your therapist will discuss what may be most helpful and beneficial for you and regularly assess your experience to ensure therapy is meeting your needs.
A standard individual session is 45 minutes long. Appointments are typically held at the same day and time each week.
We offer video sessions, or Telehealth, to individuals in New York and California, and also provide in-person sessions at our San Diego, CA location.
Counseling typically focuses on addressing specific concerns and may not always target a diagnosis, while psychotherapy (often referred to as 'therapy') is generally aimed at resolving or managing broader issues, including mental health disorders. As practitioners, we skillfully integrate both approaches to suit each client’s unique needs, providing a well-rounded and personalized experience.
